Bottom of the Hill June 11, 2001 Goddamnit, what to we have to do to get you to listen to Fiver? Didn't we laud their two albums, "Eventually Something Cool Will Happen" (produced by Grandaddy's Jason Lytle) and "Strings For Satellites", (produced by fuck's Kyle Statham) enough? Didn't you notice how we made sure to catch their set at SXSW? Didn't you see them kick ass at NoisePop this year playing with Oranger and Persephone's Bees? Have you found another lead guitarist with a voice cooler than Dave Woody's ? This is a band that we push and praise to the heavens because they are so freakin' nifty, people, do the math! Fiver have beautiful melodies yet never cease to rock in a many-layered fashion. "Squid", some people say, "be reasonable. Put that drink down. They can't be that good.." But they are! And this particular show at the BOTH was just as excellent as the others we've seen. Why there was Mini-Bunny and many others that we would remember in order if we hadn't drank quite so much. It's just fun to watch really tight bands who play good songs, ok? Fiver
